The suppliers for eCullet are generally Material Recycling Facilities ("MRFs"), which are the recipients of postconsumer material collected principally via curbside dual-stream or single-stream collection bins and secondarily via consumer drop-off centers.  The hauling and the separation of this material generates much broken glass mixed within the MRF material stream, which makes the further hand sorting of it obsolete.  The MRF residue (the residual of its recycling processes), which contains a high percentage of glass by weight, is transported to an eCullet facility for processing.  The proprietary technology of eCullet beneficiates the highly contaminated feedstock to remove contaminants and color sort the broken glass producing high-quality, furnace-ready cullet.
